Programming the filling level

Programming the sensor

After installing the level sensor, it is necessary to calibrate it once. This calibration is permanently stored in the sensor and is retained even after a power failure.

Applies to all sensors from Rev. F

There are two methods of programming for this sensor. You can choose a programming method that suits your application:

Method 1, programming by means of tank filling

With this programming, the tank is completely filled and programming is then carried out by setting a maximum point. The exact size of the tank or the water level in it does not need to be known for this calibration.

Method 2, programming by direct input

With direct input, you can programme the fill level directly into the sensor. It is not necessary to fill the tank. In contrast to method 1, however, it is necessary to know how high the level is from the end of the measuring point (usually the end of the sensor hose) to the top of the water when the tank is full.

-------------------------------------------

Applies to all sensors with Rev. A / B / C / D and E (see type plate).

  1. Installation of the level sensor.
  2. Filling the tank to 100%.
  3. The sensors have programming protection. This serves to prevent accidental reprogramming. The sensor can only be programmed within the first 15 seconds after power is applied. For programming, the connector plug must first be disconnected and then reconnected. Now a 15-second time window is available for programming.
  4. Within those 15 seconds: Press the button on the level sensor for approx. 5 seconds until the LED flashes repeatedly and quickly.

This completes the programming and the level is permanently stored (even in case of power failure).

Important notes:

  • Ensure that the level in the tank reaches the upper tank height, but that any "filling hose" that may be present is not still filled with water, as the sensor always measures the entire water column, starting from the lowest measuring point to the highest point. A possibly existing "filling hose" and the water which has risen in it would be added to the total height and the measuring result would be falsified. As a simple solution, e.g. in a motorhome, we therefore recommend opening the water tap for approx. two minutes (equivalent to approx. 15 litres) after the filling process.
