MultiConvert for connecting sensors to the IVECO Daily Cockpit

SuperSense MultiConvert e.g. for connection to IVECO Daily

Introduction:

In addition to the original tank, there are many other tank shapes and sizes available for the IVECO Daily. The 170 and 200 liter tanks from Fahrzeugbau Meier, for example, are widely used. This tank can be captured with the following product.

SS-FLS-2200SLW-KIT - SuperSense Solid Laser, incl. Bluetooth

The MultiConvert used is the version specifically for the IVECO Daily:

SS-MC-FLS-ID

Connection to the original IVECO Daily Cockpit

With the products mentioned above, either a separate display or - if it is the Bluetooth variant - the SuperSense app must be used for the display.

However, it is also possible to use the "MultiConvert" product to write the fill level signal into the original on-board network of the IVECO Daily so that the display is also shown correctly on the original fuel gauge.

Pin assignment MultiConvert

The assignment of the signals is as follows:

  • Brown wire: GND / ground
  • White wire: Power Input (10 - 30V DC)
  • Green line (Signal Input - the level signal from the SuperSense is connected here)
  • Grey wire (resistor output -)
  • Yellow line (Resistor Output +)

Proceed according to the following instructions:

  1. Install the SuperSense level sensor so that it initially works properly via the app (or an auxiliary display).
  2. Disconnect the entire power supply of the on-board network (disconnect the battery).
  3. Remove the connector from the original fuel pump. This is usually located on the top of the tank and must look like this:

  4. Two wires must now be cut on the 4-pole cable in the direction of the tank. The following picture shows the assignment. The following lines must be cut
    • Tank signal + (please be sure to label)
    • Tank signal - (please be sure to label)
  5. The lines "pump ground" as well as "pump 12V" remain on the connector and are urgently required. Leave these lines untouched. To be on the safe side, measure these lines again by briefly connecting the power supply to the vehicle's electrical system. + / - 12V from the vehicle battery must arrive at the connector.
  6. Now plug the connector back into the fuel pump. The two labelled lines "Tank signal +" and "Tank signal -" remain, which now go in the direction of the vehicle / vehicle electrical system.
  7. Now connect these lines to the MultiConvert:
    • "Tank signal +" with the signal line "Resistor Output +" (yellow line from MultiConvert)
    • "Tank signal -" with the signal line "Resistor output -" (grey line from MultiConvert)
  8. Now the other lines from the MultiConvert must be connected as follows:
    • Brown wire to vehicle ground
    • White wire (power supply / car battery)
    • Connect the green wire to the green wire from the SuperSense.
  9. Check all steps again carefully and then reconnect the power supply to the vehicle's electrical system (connect the car battery).
  10. The fill level can now be checked through the SuperSense app as well as on the original cockpit.

Important notes:

Many mistakes can happen when installing the fuel tank. We do not assume any guarantee for leaks, incorrect installation or other errors that may occur in connection with our products. In particular, we accept no liability for any consequential damage. The conversion is at your own risk - please do not install these products if you do not agree with them.
