The Active Tourer is a completely new vehicle class in the repertoire of the traditional Munich company BMW. With its compact proportions and long wheelbase, it creates a new sense of space both inside and out.

The COMWORKS company has taken up the challenge and supported the BMW Active Tourer concept car with its technology.

The interior is characterised by clear lines and ambience effects. The concept car has various scene modes that represent normal, eco or sports operation. The circular light strips can display variable colours and adapt optimally to the respective mode.
The large number of display elements show what is possible. These include a freely programmable instrument cluster, a route projection in the windscreen realized by a COMWORKS modified head-up display and wireless monitors for entertainment in the rear-seat area.

The basic concept of COMWORKS is also applied in the Active Tourer, where a central processing unit controls the entire range of display units. The conception and control of the light strips was also taken over and realised by our company.
A software on the central processing unit controls the applications on the iPad displays in the rear seat area.
The smartphone remote control app completes the package and allows the operator to switch comfortably between the different modes.
